More Blocks
Description
Procedure Block parameters can be made more clear with notes. Notes can be added prior to a parameter so that the parameter purpose is understandable. Notes only
influence appearance but can make a block easier to use.
In the example below the notes "Row" and "Column" are placed ahead of parameters having the same names:
The block used to perform the retrieve shows fields which would be anonymous if not for the notes in front to remind the user what those parameters are for:
Using Procedure Block Notes
Selecting the "More Blocks" category provides a "Define a Procedure Block" button.
Clicking this button presents an editor where a name can be provided:
To add a note right click anywhere on the block to produce this local menu:
Selecting "Add Note" results in a prompt for the note string:
Notes cannot be edited but you can delete the note and make it again. To delete a note right click on the procedure block and select "Delete Last Item":
