Description

Set Step Width adjusts the width of the step pulse for axes configured as stepper motor axes. Some stepper motor drives, particularly lower resolution full and half stepping drives, require a wide step pulse to be detected by the drive. Default step widths are narrow to support high microstepping frequencies. The parameter indicates the step width in microseconds. If the external drive supports quadrature format there can be an advantage to using the Set Step Output To Quadrature

Escapes

Set Step Width will escape if the parameter value is greater than the maximum step width supported for the controller being used. Generally values never need to exceed 30 microseconds to support a drive with wide step requirements.
